NIHR CRDC: Blackpool, based at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, is a leading site for the delivery of high-quality commercial clinical research across the Fylde Coast. Serving a diverse coastal population, the CRDC plays a key role in bringing innovative treatments and cutting-edge studies closer to patients, improving access to research opportunities across Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre.

The centre has established strengths in a number of key specialities, including Haematology and Oncology, Cardiology / Cardiothoracic research, and Respiratory medicine. Working in close collaboration with clinical teams, industry partners and academic institutions, the CRDC supports the efficient set-up and delivery of complex studies, from early-phase trials through to large multi-site investigations.

As part of the national CRDC network, Blackpool is committed to improving research accessibility, particularly within our underserved coastal community. The team works closely with local partners and patient groups to ensure studies reflect the needs of the population and to promote inclusive participation in research.
