Barts Health is the UK's top-recruiting NHS trust for commercial clinical trials, and in 2025/26 achieved a median of 74 days from regulatory approval to first patient recruited, alongside 7 European firsts and 4 global firsts in patient recruitment. That track record for speed, scale and quality underpins the centre's governance, costing and business development, giving industry partners a single point of expert contact and confidence from day one.

BHRUT, Homerton and primary care partners extend that capability across the region of over 2 million people, using a multi‑location model for patient identification and recruitment beyond the hospital setting. This has already increased opportunities across the partnership, with trials expanding into new specialties and settings for faster, more representative recruitment across eight hospitals and beyond.
