NIHR CRDC-PC: Breckland and Norfolk Region

Breckland and Norfolk Region Primary Care Commercial Research Delivery Centre brings together Grove Surgery and School Lane Surgery in Thetford, alongside Watton Medical Practice, to deliver high-quality commercial and non-commercial clinical research within primary care.

Since establishing in 2015, the centre has recruited more than 5,000 participants across a broad portfolio of studies, with consistently high levels of participant engagement and retention. As one of the NIHR Primary Care CRDCs, the Breckland and Norfolk Region CRDC provides sponsors with access to a diverse patient population across Breckland and Norfolk through collaboration with primary care networks, NHS organisations, and regional healthcare partners, supporting efficient study delivery in community settings.

The CRDC has experience delivering Phase II–IV clinical trials, vaccine studies, medical device evaluations, observational research and patient-reported outcome studies across multiple therapeutic areas. Recent contributions include participation in international multi-centre trials evaluating novel therapies for psoriasis and resistant hypertension, supporting the generation of robust safety and efficacy data for treatments addressing significant unmet clinical need.

Committed to widening participation in research, the CRDC works with sponsors and partners to improve access to clinical trials for underrepresented populations while maintaining high standards of study delivery, regulatory compliance, and participant care.
