Practices in the NIHR CRDC-PC: Thames Valley and Hampshire are among the UK’s highest-performing award-winning primary care commercial research sites, combining extensive Chief Investigator and Principal Investigator experience with a proven track record in delivering commercial clinical trials at scale and pace.

Our CRDC is a collaborative network comprising 10 highly experienced research GP delivery organisations and 16 additional spoke sites, with a patient population of 418,000. All organisations have been selected based on their established research capability, population diversity, levels of deprivation and geographic reach, enabling access to broad and representative patient populations.

Performance data consistently demonstrates gold-standard delivery: rapid study setup, strong recruitment and participant retention. First Subject In (FSI) timelines range from >24 hours to 10 days, with multiple examples of global and UK FSI.

We have standardised costing, contracting, and research delivery processes across all sites, supported by dedicated staff and purpose-built facilities. This enables sponsors to operate through a single contract across all CRDC sites, with multiple delivery models including decentralised and hub-and-spoke.

The Centre has established expertise across a wide range of therapeutic areas, including vaccines (RSV, ARI, flu, Covid-19, norovirus), COPD, asthma, diabetes, obesity, chronic kidney disease, hypertension, dermatology, and medical devices.
